University capital improvement request

The University of Missouri's state capital appropriations requests for fiscal year 2006 are as follows:

UM-Columbia:

The University of Missouri requests an appropriation for FY06 of $81,075,000 to construct a new Health Sciences Research Center at UM-Columbia. The new Health Sciences Research Center will be adjacent to the School of Medicine and Hospital. It will provide state of the art facilities vital to the School of Medicine's research programs in Cancer, Diabetes, Cardiovascular Diseases, Immunology, and Neurosciences. UM-Kansas City:

The University of Missouri requests an appropriation for FY06 of $52,699,000 for completion of the Health Sciences Building (phase I) and construction of the Center for Health Sciences Research (phase II) at UM-Kansas City. The increased research space provided by completion of phase I and construction of phase II will allow UM-Kansas City to produce new scientific discoveries, improve patient outcomes and promote economic development. UM-Rolla:

The University of Missouri requests an appropriation for FY06 of $51,551,000 for the renovation of Schrenk Hall West and a new addition to displace East Hall at UM-Rolla. The renovation of Schrenk Hall West and construction of an addition to replace East Hall will provide needed teaching and research space for chemistry, chemical engineering and an expanding biological sciences program. UM-St. Louis:

The University of Missouri requests an appropriation for FY06 of $52,255,000 for the renovation and infrastructure improvements of Benton/Stadler Halls as outlined in the UM-St. Louis Master Plan. Renovation of Benton and Stadler Halls will provide improved teaching and research facilities and will help secure external research funding in biology, microbiology, chemistry and biochemistry.
