Gov. Blunt nominates three new curators

Carnahan, 55, is an attorney and founder of Carnahan, Evans, Cantwell & Brown, P.C. in Springfield. Carnahan graduated with a bachelor of science degree in economics from Southwest Missouri State University, a law degree from UM-Columbia and an advanced law degree from the University of Miami. Carnahan will replace Curator M. Sean McGinnis of Springfield.

Russell, 51, is the president of the Durham Company, an electrical enclosures manufacturer in Lebanon. Russell earned a bachelor of science degree in business administration from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He previously served on the UM Board of Curators from 1982-1987. During that time, he served as president, vice president and chairman of the Long Range Planning Committee. Russell will replace Curator Mary James of Harrisonville.

Wasinger, 41, is an attorney and managing partner of Murphy Wasinger, L.C. in St. Louis. Wasinger earned a bachelor of science degree in accounting from UM-Columbia and a law degree from the Vanderbilt University. He will replace Curator Connie Burkhardt of St. Louis.

Confirmation hearings are scheduled for Feb. 2. State law requires that the board be filled by a certain number of Republicans and Democrats from each of Missouri's nine congressional districts.
