It is a busy time of year and the COMPASS project is not an exception. This issue of COMPASS Roadmap highlights the updates made by members of the COMPASS project team to the COMPASS steering committee. Also, don’t forget to check out the What’s Coming Up? article at the end of the newsletter for a calendar of milestones and events.

Steering Committee Receives Project Update

On October 23, the COMPASS steering committee received an update on all aspects of the COMPASS project. Data Warehouse topics kicked off the updates and the project team was pleased to report that the budget variance report drill-downs for budget and encumbrances are in progress. Additionally, as progress continues on the design phase for COMPASS Data Warehouse reporting, the team plans to present the data mart map at the November steering committee meeting. This data mart will answer a number of strategic questions that the COMPASS project was originally charged with answering in the project charter.

Next on the agenda was the exciting news that Hyperion-LRP moved to production and report development was completed. Performance testing scripts will be developed over the coming weeks, followed by training and deployment of the application itself, in Columbia, later in November.

Following the LRP update was a Hyperion-HCP update. HCP is on-target to complete the migration into production and technical validation by November 9. HCP reports are currently in progress and on-track. Of particular interest was the HCP user acceptance testing (UAT) plan. Test scripts are beginning to be developed and UAT is scheduled onsite at each campus from Nov. 28-Dec. 11. Being onsite will enable the project team and the campus budget officers to work within the unique technical environment of each campus.

The meeting wrapped up with an update concerning end user support. In order to systematically capture issues with reports and production issues as well as ensure timely resolutions, Remedy has been engaged by the campus budget officers. Communications are also being developed and put in place to address system downtime and outages.
