Systemwide Communications - December 13, 2011

Dear Colleagues:

I am pleased to let you know that after nearly two dozen meetings and an almost year-long national outreach, the University of Missouri Board of Curators today announced the appointment of Timothy M. Wolfe as the 23rd president.

Tim, myself and Board of Curators Chairman Warren Erdman visited the Columbia and Rolla campuses today, and will head to St. Louis and Kansas City Wednesday to introduce our new president.

Tim is a University of Missouri-Columbia business school alumnus with an executive background in the high-tech industry. Although he has national and international experience, his roots are in Missouri. He is the son of two university professors—a father who taught communications and a mother who is a law professor.

To learn more about our 23rd president, please visit www.umsystem.edu/president.

When Tim joins us in mid-February, I will return to my position as General Counsel. Again, thank you for your support throughout this year of transition. I am proud of the work we have done, and I look forward to the new leadership Tim will provide.

Sincerely,

Stephen J. Owens

Interim President
