New Camera Makes Seeing the “Invisible” Possible
A research team, led by professor Reza Zoughi, has developed a handheld camera that uses millimeter and microwaves signals to peek inside materials and structures in real time. The technology could be used to unintrusively detect defects in aerospace vehicles or even skin cancer. The handheld system can produce synthetically focused images of objects at speeds of up to 30 images per second. The device is battery-powered and can run for several hours.Posted on Mar 07, 2011.
