Director of Academic Programs

Christa M. Weisbrook

Dr. Chris Weisbrook serves as director of academic programs in the office of academic affairs, where she coordinates new degree program approval and review, the faculty awards program, and assists the Senior Associate Vice President with a variety of other academic affairs issues at the university and statewide levels.  She is the director of the University of Missouri Faculty Scholars Program, a system-wide professional development program for new faculty. Weisbrook is currently overseeing a statewide initiative in which Missouri’s four-year universities are redesigning thirteen high enrollment courses in partnership with the National Center for Academic Transformation, and she coordinated efforts to secure a Next Generation Learning Challenges grant to fund the project.

Prior to working in academic affairs, Chris was the special assistant to the provost at Missouri University of Science and Technology and the assistant dean for academic programs for the College of Engineering at the University of Missouri. Weisbrook earned B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in mechanical and aerospace engineering from the University of Missouri and an M.S. in mechanical engineering from the University of Wisconsin—Madison.  She is a licensed professional engineer and serves as a program evaluator for ABET, the accreditation body for engineering programs.
