Dr. Heather Hunt received a B.S. in chemical engineering from Iowa State University (2004), and a M.S. and Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the California Institute of Technology (2007, 2009) in the research group of Prof. Mark E. Davis. She was awarded an NSF Graduate Research Fellowship for her doctoral work. After graduating, she joined the Mork Family Department of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science at the University of Southern California, as a Postdoctoral Scholar. She was awarded the 2010-2011 WiSE Merit Award for Excellence in Postdoctoral Research for her work at USC. In 2011, she joined the faculty as an assistant professor in the Department of Biological Engineering at the University of Missouri.
The Hunt Research Laboratory explores the interfaces among surface chemistry, structure, composition, and bulk physical properties of advanced materials for optoelectronics. We design and characterize novel, nanostructured materials to create on-chip optoelectronic devices for environmental monitoring.
