Maureen Quigley received a Ph.D. in art history from the University of Texas at Austin in 2003. Since that time, she has taught at the American University of Paris, Saint Louis University and now at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. Her specialty is the history and visual culture of the medieval world, specifically the manuscript tradition of the French kings in the fourteenth century. She has received a post-doctoral fellowship in the Department of Western Illuminated Manuscripts at the British Library, has published on the art of the crusades, and has presented her research internationally. Quigley’s current interests include exploring the application of the digital humanities to her teaching and research projects, especially as this may apply to the historical technology of writing, graphic design and the history of illustrated books.
