ASUM Internships

State Legislative Internship Program:

ASUM started a state level student internship program in 1976 and 243 UM students have served as legislative interns through the program. Legislative interns are registered as lobbyists with the state of Missouri and work at the Capitol several days per week in order to advocate for ASUM Legislative Policy.

Students earn 6 credit hours for the internship. The internship occurs in WI semester. Interns are selected in FA each year.

ASUM Internships

Federal Internship Program:

The ASUM federal internship began in SU 2005. The program is co-sponsored with the UM Governmental Affairs office and the student selected works with the UM system lobbyist as well as in a Congressional office in DC. Interns are selected for each FA and WI semesters. Academic credit is an option. To apply for this position, please fill out the following application:
