This page provides information about the process of voting and voter registration to students at University of Missouri System Schools (UMC, UMKC, MS&T, UMSL).
Requirements to Vote in Missouri-
How to Register-
- Complete a voter registration card at:

- Register to vote (see above)
- Appear at your polling location on election day or submit your absentee ballot (see Missouri/Out of State Absentee Voting)
Missouri Absentee Voting-
- Send a letter/fax to your local election official requesting an absentee ballot
- If voting absentee in Missouri a standard form can be found here: http://www.sos.mo.gov/forms/elections/absentee.pdf .
- Generally election officials need to know: Your full legal name, which election you intend to vote absentee in, a reason for your absence, where you are registered to vote, and where your ballot is to be mailed.
- Your request must be received by 5:00pm the Wednesday before the election
- Your ballot must be received by 5:00pm the night before election
- Follow all the instructions on the absentee ballot. You ballot may need to be notarized by a notary public. Notaries may not charge a fee as the 24th Amendment of the US Constitution prohibits poll taxes. Any bank should provide a notarization without cost.

Out of State Absentee Voting-
- Every state has different absentee requirements please check with your local election official about requirements at least 45 days before an election.
- Send a letter/fax to your local election official requesting an absentee ballot
- Generally election officials need to know: Your full legal name, which election you intend to vote absentee in, a reason for your absence, where you are registered to vote, and where your ballot is to be mailed.
