Decision Support Project

The University of Missouri Decision Support Project is the next step in building a decision support environment for University of Missouri faculty and staff.

General Education

Implementing Missouri's General Education Policy, a web site to assist Missouri's institutions of higher education in implementing the general education component of the CBHE policy, "Credit Transfer: Guidelines for Student Transfer and Articulation among Missouri Colleges and Universities."

2002 Strategic Plan, "A Design for the Future"

The Board of Curators adopted the system-wide strategic plan, A Design for the Future, in September 1999. The revised 2002 strategic plan reflects a transition in thinking away from a linear planning model toward an integrated systems approach. Includes explanations of the Balanced Scorecard concept model; the Strategic Themes that more clearly communicate strategic intent (Access to Learning, Academic Achievement and Quality, Community-University Engagement, Valuing People and Creating a Supportive Work Environment, Improving Core Processes, and Developing and Managing Resources).

Supporting materials include revised financial planning assumptions and an environmental scanning document entitled, EnScan Perspectives 2001-2002.

Task Force on the Reduction of Academic Costs

From the Reduction of Academic Costs Task Force Report (PowerPoint 611 KB):

• During the past two years, the University of Missouri System has incurred significant reductions in State budget allocations and this trend is expected to continue for several more years. A former State budget director argues persuasively that the State budget has structural problems and the trend of reduced budget allocations for higher education will not be alleviated by an economic turnaround. Therefore, it is not only necessary for the University to respond to the immediate fiscal shortfalls, but it is also prudent for the University to plan to operate under marginal fiscal conditions for some time.
