This award is to honor University of Missouri students who have shown entrepreneurial potential. Examples include students who have demonstrated innovativeness and originality, have developed processes or products that show commercial potential, have created an effective business model, have created a functional entrepreneurial team, or have developed specialized technologies for use at the University of Missouri.
$2,500 will be awarded to the top finalist(s). The finalist(s) will be recognized at the President's Award Dinner.
The nominees must be full-time, undergraduate or graduate students enrolled at the University of Missouri during the fall semester 2008. Individual students or teams of students may be nominated.
Please download and complete the attached fill-and-print .pdf nomination form. Nominations should also include a cover letter summarizing the nominee's entrepreneurial accomplishments and other supporting evidence of entrepreneurial innovation. Reference letters of support are encouraged but limited to no more than 10. These letters should indicate the reference´s relationship to the nominee and any information on the reference´s qualifications that might be helpful to the selection committee. The names of those providing references should be included on the nomination form. Also include a current resume or curriculum vitae detailing academic and professional experience and a one-page personal statement from the nominee that summarizes his or her entrepreneurial/creative objectives. Nomination packages will not be returned to the campuses. Do not place the nomination package in a hard binder.
Sixteen (16) copies of the nomination package should be submitted to the Office of the Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs, Attn: Dr. Kandis M. Smith, 309 University Hall, Columbia, Missouri 65211 by the appropriate designee on the campus.
