The University of Missouri Student Entrepreneur of Year 2010

For Entrepreneurial Innovation at the University of Missouri

Purpose

This award is to honor University of Missouri students who have demonstrated innovativeness, originality, and entrepreneurial spirit in the development of processes, products, or technologies of commercial potential and/or of benefit to the University of Missouri. 

Award Amount

$2,500 will be awarded to the top finalist(s). The finalist(s) will be recognized at the President's Award Dinner.

Eligibility

The nominees must be full-time, undergraduate or graduate students enrolled at the University of Missouri during the fall semester 2009. Individual students or teams of students may be nominated.

Nomination Format

Please download and complete the attached fill-and-print .pdf nomination form. Nominations should also include a cover letter summarizing the nominee's entrepreneurial accomplishments and other supporting evidence of entrepreneurial innovation. Reference letters of support are encouraged but limited to no more than 10. These letters should indicate the reference´s relationship to the nominee and any information on the reference´s qualifications that might be helpful to the selection committee. The names of those providing references should be included on the nomination form. Also include a current resume or curriculum vitae detailing academic and professional experience and a one-page personal statement from the nominee that summarizes his or her entrepreneurial/creative objectives. Nomination packages will not be returned to the campuses. Do not place the nomination package in a hard binder.

Submissions

Sixteen (16) copies of the nomination package should be submitted to the Office of the Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs, Attn: Ms. Sam Kanatzar, 518 Clark Hall, Columbia, MO 65211, by the appropriate designee on the campus.
