Insurance coverages are presented in summary form for the purpose of information only and should not be interpreted as being the exact provisions of the insurance policy. Additional and more specific information may be obtained by submitting a written request to the UM Director of Risk & Insurance Management, or by referring to the "Informational Brochure on Insurance Policies and Procedures" for the current year.
AD&D protection for University medical personnel while flying on helicopter "Life Flights."
This coverage provides medical and dental payments for injuries that may be incurred by intercollegiate varsity athletes and cheerleaders while practicing for or participating in an intercollegiate event. Coverage includes travel to and from the event. Covered events include authorized and supervised practice sessions as well as the actual intercollegiate events.
Provides auto and general liability coverage for claims that are in excess of the self-insured retention. The policy contains exclusions for certain perils. For details of exclusions, contact the UM Director of Risk and Insurance Management.
Insures repair and replacement exposure for all boiler and machinery equipment owned by the University of Missouri. This includes mechanical equipment, such as heating and ventilation, that is affixed to the building. The coverage also includes business interruption/extra expense, and spoilage coverage on food, blood, plasma, drugs, and serums.
Publications
Insures the University, employees, and students against liability claims arising from insured publications on account of libel or the infringement of rights pertaining to or arising out of privacy, plagiarism, piracy or copyright, for injury suffered by reason of the utterance or dissemination of specified matter published, except claims arising by reason of the printing of periodicals, advertising matter or any and all jobs taken by the insured to be printed for a third party, which periodical, advertising matter or other printing is not a regular part of the University's own publications. This insurance is applicable only to publications specifically stated on a schedule provided the insurer.
Broadcasting
Provides protection to the University, employees, and students against liability claims on account of libel or slander or the infringement of rights pertaining to or arising out of privacy, plagiarism, piracy or copyright, or injury suffered by reason of the utterance or dissemination of matter over facilities of the radio broadcasting or television stations of the University. This insurance is applicable only to radio and television stations specifically stated on a schedule provided to the insurer.
This is an excess policy over any other available coverage. However, the first $200 of medical/dental benefits will be paid by the policy without contribution from other available insurance coverages. This coverage provides for medical payments insurance for participants in events sponsored by the University that are registered with the insurer in the event of injury or sickness during the course of the camp or clinic.
This insurance provides protection to the University against:
Insures art objects and antiques owned by the University, those held in trust, those in transit, and those held for exhibition.
Insures the University against loss of income due to cancellation of any or all of the MU scheduled home football games.
Owner/landlord tenant liability coverage including Owners Contractors Protection endorsement in favor of Kansas City Power and Light Company (KCP&L). Coverage is contractually required by KCP&L and provides for liability stemming from the placement of telephone lines and banners on KCP&L poles.
Insures for University liability against property damage or bodily injury to third parties. Policy applicable to incidents involving single-engine, fixed-wing aircraft designed to hold ten persons or less, and rotary aircraft having no more than five total seats.
Insures the University for third party bodily injury and/or property damage claims caused by nuclear energy hazards arising primarily out of the operation of its nuclear reactor in Columbia, Missouri and Rolla, Missouri.
Insures against all physical loss or damage of University real or personal property due to such perils as fire, windstorm, hail, smoke damage, breakage and other destruction. Also covered is flood, quake, and collapse. This policy covers buildings and contents identified in the policy schedule.

This is an excess policy over any other available coverage. The coverage is comprehensive and provides enrolled students of the University protection against accident and sickness expenses for the period the student is insured. Plan participation is strictly voluntary.

Provides primary coverage against loss of life, dismemberment, and medical expenses due to accidents incurred or resulting from any trip off campus as required by the student's regular curriculum or sponsored by a University recognized and approved student organization. This coverage does not include a sickness benefit.
