A member of the Office of the General Counsel since 1984, William Arnet represents the University on a range of issues, including healthcare law, real estate, medical malpractice, athletics and business development.  Prior to joining the Office of the General Counsel, Mr. Arnet served for ten years as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Missouri where he served as Chief Counsel of the Governmental Affairs Division and Chief Counsel of the Litigation Division of that office.  He also spent one year as a legislative assistant to former United States Senator John C. Danforth.

Mr. Arnet received his B.A. in Political Science from Southeast Missouri State University in 1970 and his J.D. from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1973 where he was a member of the Board of Student Editors of the Missouri Law Review and a member of the Order of the Coif. He is admitted to practice law in the State of Missouri and before the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Missouri, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit and the United States Supreme Court.
