DocumentDirect is a Windows-based client/server application that provides a common user interface to view documents.
Click the following link to download the self extracting installation Document Direct 2.3 Software. When prompted where to save the file select create a new folder called RMS. Click save to download the dd23sel9.exe file in the RMS folder.
A typical DocumentDirect installation includes the following steps:
Note: If you are upgrading from your current release of DocumentDirect 2.1 or 2.2, delete the previous version's 'rdswin.ini' file. DocumentDirect 2.3 was designed to install over DocumentDirect 2.1 or 2.2 by first uninstalling the previous versions. It will not clear the previous version's "rdswin.ini" file. Proceed by double clicking on the dd23sel9.exe file in the RMS folder to install your upgrade.
You will need a password to complete the installation; see below.
The installation or upgrade programs are stored as a Self-Extracting (EXE) program format or a disk image format. The self-extracting EXE format is the one you are most likely to use. Just click on the installation icon next to the self-extracting format text to download the program. Your browser will then prompt you for a file name and location in which to save the installation program. (Choosing the default "C:\Program Files\Mobius" is okay.) The self-extracting (EXE) is password protected. To obtain the password please contact ITSS - Production Support.
After you have downloaded all the installation programs you will need to double click on the DocumentDirect icon to start the application.
Note: Database Setup is required before Document Direct Application can work. See instructions below.
To start database setup, click the Database Setup icon. The Mobius Database Setup dialog is displayed. The Mobius Database Setup wizard guides you through configuring data sources to be used with DocumentDirect . Following the wizard prompts, you can perform the following tasks to configure a new data source to use a new database.
