Gov. Matt Blunt announced the nominations of Warren K. Erdman of Kansas City, Bo Fraser of Columbia, and Judith G. Haggard of Kennett to the University of Missouri Board of Curators. The three new curators have been confirmed by the Missouri Senate.
The new members were sworn in at a Jan. 11 board meeting in Columbia, replacing departing curators Angela M. Bennett, Kansas City; Thomas E. Atkins, Columbia; and Anne C. Ream, West Plains.
Erdman is senior vice president of corporate affairs for Kansas City Southern. He received a bachelor’s degree from Westminster College. Erdman previously served as chief of staff for U.S. Senator Christopher S. Bond. He was appointed as co-chair of the Missouri State Government Review Commission by Blunt and as vice chair of the Missouri Apportionment Commission by Gov. Bob Holden.
Erdman is a member of the University of Missouri-Kansas City Trustees. He is the chair of the Economic Development Corporation of Kansas City. Erdman also serves on the Kansas City Area Development Council, the Downtown Council of Kansas City, the Downtown Kansas City Community Improvement District, and the Greater Kansas City Metropolitan Arts Council, among others.
Fraser is chairman of the board of Boone County National Bank and previously served as the bank’s chairman and CEO for more than 20 years. He received a bachelor’s degree in business from Benedictine College, and is a graduate of the Southwestern School of Banking at Southern Methodist University.
Fraser serves on the board of directors for Benedictine College. He is a founding member of the Community Development Cooperative, formed to address housing issues in the central area of Columbia, and of Regional Economic Development, Inc. (REDI), a public-private partnership that promotes economic development in Boone County.
He also has served on the boards of Columbia College, the United Way, the Columbia Chamber of Commerce, Rotary, Missouri Innovation Center, and Advent/Job Point.
Haggard is a family nurse practitioner at the SEMO Health Network in Kennett. She received a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a master’s degree in nursing from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. A certified substance abuse counselor, she has served as the director of community services and as a clinical therapist at the Family Counseling Center in Kennett.
Haggard is an examiner for the Missouri Substance Abuse Board and a past board member of the State Alcohol Council. She founded the Dunklin County Hospital volunteer program, and has served as a board member for both the Delta Children’s Home and the Visiting Nurses’ Association.
