Facilities Planning and Development

To support the University's educational and research mission, we provide information and services to the entire system related to UM facility assets. Specifically, we:

• Manage projects that plan, expand, and preserve UM physical assets. We lead design teams to satisfy program requirements, strengthen the University's physical environment and obtain maximum value for each UM construction dollar.
• Formulate, in concert with campus administration, system-wide design and construction policy and procedure. We will take steps to insure compliance with policy and resolve disputes when necessary.
• Prepare the annual UM Capital Budget Request. The request is based on campus plans and done in concert with campus administrators. Set policy and specify data parameters for UM facility databases, collect information from the campuses, serve as the facilities information source for UM system and external agencies, and provide interpretive analysis of data.
