One of the goals in the Division of Finance and Administration is to create a workplace where our staff has the opportunity to learn, grow and contribute in meaningful ways. Toward this end, we endeavor to enhance staff competencies through professional development.
Given recent budget restrictions, we have established this website to provide links to low and no-cost training, seminars, webinars and other on-line learning opportunities. Before participating in these and other professional development opportunities, check with your supervisor for departmental approval requirements.

Seminars and Conferences
MU Trulaske College of Business Speaker Series are open to interested participants with varied business topics.
MU Truman School of Public Affairs Conferences & Events are open to interested participants with varied topics on public affairs.
MU Human Resource Services Adult Education Seminars are offered through the Columbia Area Career Center. University employees taking these selected courses are eligible for tuition assistance from the University.
MU Department of Economics Brown Bag Seminar Series on a variety of economics topics.
Centers and Training Institutes
MU Trulaske College of Business has many Centers & Institutes which provide information and training to improve business performance and organizational effectiveness. These include:

MU Truman School of Public Affairs provides support for policy-makers through policy-related research, conferences, and training using lectures, forums, and symposia to foster dialogue about important policy issues.
Division of IT Training has classroom and online training available to System, MU faculty, staff, and MU students, University Hospital, and Extension employees. IT training courses, except IT Pro training courses, are available for free if you attend - if not there is a charge.
MU Campus Facilities Training is delivered in lectures, workshops, seminars, and on-the-job training utilizing in-house experts and outside trainers. Although training is geared to MU Campus Facilities employees, many training courses are open to University staff.
MU Center for Distance and Independent Study has a noncredit professional development curriculum to assist individuals in qualifying for state certification and periodic recertification at various professional levels.
MU Career Center - Employee Resource Services provides assistance with a variety of issues including career counseling, job stress, personal relationships, financial problems, and many more.
MU Employee Assistance Program Training provides an ongoing program of education and training designed to both increase employee awareness of stress and enhance their stress management capacity. A printable brochure contains a listing of current programs.
MU Extension is Missouri's one-stop source for practical education on almost everything.
myLearn is an online training and development resource available to University of Missouri faculty and staff (sign in using your University User ID and Password). Advance yourself in knowledge, skills, and abilities - online, anytime, anywhere!
Rockhurst On-Site Training - Business Training & Development Solutions are available at 10% - 25% discounts thanks to University membership in the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP).
"Emerging Issues & Trends in Real Estate" is an annual forum through the Jeffrey E. Smith Institute of Real Estate (MU Trulaske College of Business) and is open to everyone. Information on the next Forum will be available in the Spring 2011!
MU Human Resource Services Training Conference for University of Missouri employees only. Information on the next Conference will be available in the Fall 2010!
MU Trulaske College of Business - Financial Research Institute (FRI) hosts a public utilities symposium each fall and plans to launch divisions in other areas of finance. Information on the next Symposium will be available in the Fall 2010!
