MU Student Recreation Complex: The complex features four facilities under one roof (Mizzou Aquatic Center, Rothwell Gymnasium, Brewer Fieldhouse and Student Rec. Addition) and is located in the center of campus at Hitt and Rollins streets. Fully funded by student recreation activity fees, the complex was renovated and expanded in 2005 and has redefined state-of-the-art recreation. Faculty and staff are eligible for a number of attractive non-student membership programs.
Hearnes Center: The Hearnes Center is open for "free play" by faculty, staff and students. The hours vary from week to week due to inter-collegiate sporting events and entertainment program priorities.
A.L. Gustin Golf Course: This 18-hole golf course is available for use by faculty, staff and the general public. The course is open year round, weather permitting. Hours are from 7:30 a.m. until dark. Reduced greens fees are available for faculty, staff and students with a MU ID. The course features tournaments for faculty and staff.
The Health Connection: THC is a health and wellness center serving the adult and senior population. Directed under the MU School of Health Professions, it also serves as a research facility. THC offers a wide variety of group fitness classes, a full gym, massage therapy, flu shots, travel vaccinations and monthly cholesterol screenings. It is open to the public and offers discounts to MU employees and retirees. Conveniently located on the Stephens College Campus in Hillcrest Hall, 1507 E. Broadway, free parking is available. Swinney Recreation Center: For a membership fee (available for payroll deduction), staff and faculty may use the following facilities seven days a week: Olympic-style, six-lane, indoor/outdoor swimming pool; a 1/8-mile indoor, banked running track; four handball/racquetball courts; one squash court; sauna and steam rooms; fully equipped fitness center with cardiovascular machines, machined and free weights; and five gymnasia. SRC's Health and Wellness Center includes the state-of-the-art Kinesis Techno-gym and Bod Pod body mass measurement system. Other amenities, such as upscale locker rooms, massage therapy, aerobics/fitness classes and personalized fitness training sessions, are available for additional fees.
Gale Bullman Multipurpose Building: University employees may enjoy the recreational facilities at the Gale Bullman Multipurpose Building. All facilities are reserved for employees from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. weekdays. Contact the campus Athletic Department for additional information.
Mark Twain Building: A wide range of recreational activities and programs are available in this complex. You may use the facilities when they are not scheduled for classes, intramural games or other events. For information about the availability of the facility, call the campus Athletic Department or the information desk at the University Center.
