FAQs
When trying to access myLearn from within myHR you may receive the error 'User name and password are required.'
This is most likely because cookies are not allowed in your browser. To fix this in Internet Explorer, follow these steps:
- Click Tools.
- Select Internet Options.
- Click the Security tab.
- Click the Default level button if it is available.
- Click the Privacy tab.
- Click the Default button if it is available.
- Click OK.
- Restart Internet Explorer and try again.
If the steps listed above don't resolve the problem try these additional steps:
- Click Tools.
- Click Internet Options.
- Click Security.
- Click Trusted Sites.
- Click Sites.
- Type *.skillport.com into the Add this website to the zone box.
- Click Add.
- Type *.umsystem.edu into the Add this website to the zone box.
- Click Add.
- Click Close.
- Click Privacy.
- If Turn on Pop-up Blocker is checked, click Settings and complete steps 12a-e. If not, proceed to step 13.
- Type *.skillport.com into the Add this website to allow box.
- Click Add.
- Type *.umsystem.edu into the Add this website to allow box.
- Click Add.
- Click Close
- Click Apply.
- Click OK.
Restart Internet Explorer and try again.

I get a message saying that I’m timing out of myHR.
You can close myHR after accessing myLearn. myHR does not have to be active in order to use myLearn.
I clicked on the “Click Here to Begin” button in myHR but nothing happened.
myLearn opens in a new browser window. Please check all other open browser windows on your computer. If it did not open in a new browser winder, please perform a browser test at http://browser.skillport.com.
I can’t log into myHR.
Please contact your local IT Help Desk for additional support.
I get an error message saying ‘SkillPort has not finished initializing your desktop settings’
- Perform a browser test at http://browser.skillport.com. This will tell you if you have Java installed.

I am unable to launch a course.
- Have the user perform a browser test at http://browser.skillport.com.

My course progress is not saving for courses being taken online.
- Be sure to check My Report for the progress, and that the course has been closed. If the course is still open, close the course and refresh the My Report page

- Open the course and reattempt an assessment. Close the course again, and access My Report to check for new progress
How do I add courses to My Plan?
To add courses to My Plan please follow the steps below:
- Click on the Catalog tab. Note: You may also use the Search-and-Learn feature to locate a course.
- Expand the listing to view a Curriculum.
- Expand the curriculum tree to view a sub-curriculum.
- Click on a course name.
- From the top of the Course Information page, click on Add this course to My Plan.
- Enter the appropriate information in the fields on the Add To My Plan page.
- Due Date: Set the date the learning goal is to be accomplished. There must be a difference of at least one day between actual date and the due date.
- Reminder: Set email reminders at desired intervals
- Click on the Submit button. A confirmation page is displayed indicating the course has been added to your plan.
- Click on Click Here to Go To My Plan.
How do I remove courses from My Plan
To remove courses from the "My Plan" view please follow the steps below:
- Go to "My Plan"
- Select the course by clicking on the course title
- Please select "Modify my Plan"
- Please scroll to the bottom and choose "Remove this course from my Plan"
Please note: If the content has been assigned to you by an administrator, then only an administrator may remove the course from your My Plan.
How do I remove courses from My Report?
Content that appears in this area cannot be removed at this time
I am unable to see the navigation buttons at the bottom of the course (appears as if the bottom of the course is ‘cut off’).
- Your screen resolution must be set at 1024x768 or higher
- If you have to increase the screen resolution, be sure to close and re-launch the course.
To change the screen resolution, follow these steps for Windows XP:
- From your Desktop, open My Computer.
- Once in there, open Control Panel.
- Inside the Control Panel open the Display icon.
- Select the Settings tab. You will see a picture of a monitor and some options at the bottom.
- One of the options is Screen Resolution with a slide bar under it labeled Less and More.
- This bar should be set to 1024 x 768 pixels. If it is not, then you should click on the bar until it is at the correct setting.
- Once this is done then you can click on the Apply button. Once the changes take effect you can select the OK button and close all of your windows.
- Now try to access the course again and you should have no problems.
Can I access myLearn with a Mac?
myLearn will run on a Mac but you may experience performance problems such as slowness.
Can I close myHR when I’m using myLearn especially when I receive a message that my inactivity in myHR will close the session?
You can close your myHR session without affecting myLearn. myLearn runs in a separate window from myHR.
