Close Ties with Engineering Firms Give UMKC Students Inside Track
UMKC student Kingsley Kantanka says his goal of pursuing a career in civil engineering is a step closer to realization because of the close ties between academia and industry provided by UMKC’s School of Computing and Engineering. The school works collaboratively with area firms to provide students with opportunities for internships, research and mentoring.
According to Kantanka, these industry relationships have exposed him to engineering professionals and will give him a competitive edge in the market. He plans to stay in Missouri following graduation and hopes to be a mentor to future engineering students.
