Kathy Miller named University of Missouri System chief of staff

University of Missouri System Interim President Steve Owens has named Kathy Miller chief of staff, removing the “interim” she carried in her title since assuming the role in July.

“Kathy has proven to be a valuable asset in the role of chief of staff and will be a continued important part of a smooth transition as the university conducts its search for a permanent president,” Owens said. “I am delighted she has agreed to continue to serve the university in this capacity.”

As chief of staff, Miller will continue providing leadership in the planning, facilitating and coordinating of activities in the offices of the president and board of curators. In addition, she will continue to serve as the UM custodian of records with responsibility for ensuring the university is in compliance with the Missouri Sunshine Law as it relates to requests for open records.

Miller formerly served as UM secretary of the board of curators since 1995 and has held various management positions in the hospitality industry.
