The University of Missouri Board of Curators will conduct its annual retreat and convene its regular business meeting on Thursday, July 26, and Friday, July 27, in Marceline, Mo.

Marceline is the hometown of Don Walsworth, Chairman of the Board of Curators, governing body for the four-campus University of Missouri System. The Board traditionally conducts a summer meeting at a location selected by its chair, and Chairman Walsworth chose to bring his colleagues to Marceline.

"My family is pleased to call Marceline home, and to welcome the Board of Curators to our great community," Chairman Walsworth said. The events will have a positive economic impact for Marceline and nearby communities, as visitors associated with the meetings will be patronizing area lodging facilities, restaurants and other businesses.

The Board of Curators will convene for its annual retreat on Thursday at the Walsworth Community Center, 124 East Ritchie Avenue. The Board will convene in open session for its regular July meeting on Friday morning at the Walsworth Community Center.
