The University of Missouri Presidential Search Advisory Committee will meet on Tuesday, May 22 and Wednesday, May 23, in St. Louis. The Advisory Committee was created by the UM Board of Curators to interview candidates for the UM presidency and report its impressions and advice to the Curators, who are serving as a Presidential Search Committee.

The Advisory Committee will convene in open session at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Noonday Club, One Metropolitan Square, 211 North Broadway, 40th Floor, in downtown St. Louis. By approximately 7:15 p.m., the Advisory Committee will consider a resolution to meet in closed session, as authorized by Missouri law.

After an overnight recess following the dinner meeting, the closed session will resume at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Thompson Room of the Thompson Coburn law firm, 35th Floor, One U.S. Bank Plaza, 7th and Washington in downtown St. Louis. Wednesday’s session is scheduled to last until approximately 5:00 p.m.

The Presidential Search Advisory Committee is composed of 19 members representing a variety of interests across the University’s four campuses. The panel is being chaired by Dr. Frank Schmidt of the University of Missouri-Columbia, who chairs the Intercampus Faculty Council.

The Board is seeking a successor to Dr. Elson S. Floyd, who has assumed the presidency of Washington State University. Dr. Gordon H. Lamb is serving as Interim President until a permanent successor is selected by the Board of Curators.
