Dr. Gordon H. Lamb, Interim President of the University of Missouri, continues the 2007 University Unity Tour on Monday, December 3, with campus presentations in St. Joseph and Maryville.

Dr. Lamb will share a stage for an 11:30 a.m. luncheon presentation with President James Scanlon in the Fulkerson Center at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph. At 3:30 p.m., Dr. Lamb will join President Dean Hubbard for a presentation to community leaders in the J.W. Jones Student Union Boardroom at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville. The presidents will be available for media interviews after each event.

The University Unity events are free and open to the public. This is the second consecutive year the president's of Missouri's public higher education institutions have united to promote their shared missions of accountability, teaching and service for our state's citizens. This fall, the presidents are discussing Preparing to Care, an initiative of all public four-year and two-year institutions to increase the number of graduates in critically needed health professions. Preparing to Care has been endorsed by the Missouri Coordinating Board for Higher Education and has garnered support from legislators and on editorial pages statewide.

University Unity events have been conducted this fall by Dr. Lamb with President Michael Nietzel of Missouri State University and President Aaron Podolefsky of the University of Central Missouri. After Monday's events, the next stop on the University Unity tour will be a joint luncheon presentation on Friday, December 7, with President Barbara Dixon on the campus of Truman State University in Kirksville.
