Donald L. Cupps
Donald L. Cupps was appointed to the University of Missouri Board of Curators in 2011 by Gov. Jay Nixon.
He served as chair of the University of Missouri Board of Curators, the governing body of the University of Missouri System, in 2015.
Cupps attended the University of Missouri-Columbia and received his bachelor’s degree in agricultural economics in 1978 and his juris doctorate in 1981. Currently Cupps is the senior partner at Ellis, Cupps and Cole P.C., and serves as the attorney for the city of Cassville and the Barry County Industrial Development Authority.
Cupps serves as a director of the Commerce Bank of Barry County. Previously, he served on the board of directors and as chairman of the board of the South Barry County Hospital District and the Cassville Industrial Development Corp., as well as a four year term as a director of the Missouri County Employee Retirement Fund. In addition, Cupps served as a trustee of the Missouri Public School Retirement System/Public Education Employees Retirement Fund, the largest public pension system in Missouri, which administers a $30 billion defined benefit plan for Missouri teachers and education employees.
Cupps is a member of the Mill Street Church of Christ in Cassville and Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity. He is married to Mary Barnes Cupps, who is a 1979 graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism. Their two adult sons, Grant and Steven, both reside in Chicago.
