The Manager, Perioperative Supply Chain Services will manage, implement, measure, and guide supply chain operations related to the operating room (OR) and surgical services through inventory management, ensuring all necessary supplies and equipment are available to support patient care, while also controlling costs and minimizing waste. Foster a collaborative environment between supply chain and the clinical surgical services team members and assist stakeholders in promoting clinical integration within supply chain.
Manage daily supply chain clinical integration within the OR to include oversight of the purchase of supplies and equipment required for surgical and anesthesia procedures. This involves collaborating with suppliers to negotiate contracts and ensuring inventory levels are optimized to meet demand while minimizing waste.
Manage and maintain accurate inventory records, track expiration dates, ensure stock levels are adequate to meet demand, and identify and address any issues with overstocking or understocking.
Analyze data related to supply chain operations, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement, and creating and implementing strategies for optimization of the replenishment process.
Ensure all supplies and equipment meet required standards for safety and quality and collaborate with other departments to develop and implement quality improvement initiatives.
Manage a team of perioperative supply chain technician staff, including interviewing, hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, and performance management.
Manage the Tissue Tracker system to include vendor certifications, recalls, and quarterly inventory verification.
Lead a culture of safety through proactive risk mitigation and continuous quality improvement, taking measures to evaluate regulatory readiness routinely. Monitor and analyze safety and performance metrics to identify trends and implement corrective actions for staff and/or patients as appropriate.
Manage the development, coordination, and maintenance of daily staffing schedules to ensure the appropriate level of coverage and continuity of care.
Monitor and oversee time and attendance in alignment with MU Health Care policies and practices, ensuring accuracy of records and timely approval for payroll purposes.

Knowledge and proficiency in the use of people management systems to support financial, human resources, and supply chain operations.
Applies knowledge of inventory platform to monitor and manage inventory accuracy, availability, and cost-efficiency.
Utilizes electronic medical record systems to support clinical documentation, surgical workflows, and interdisciplinary coordination.
Knowledge of unit workflows, policies, and procedures to manage daily operations, maintain standards, and support quality improvement.
Applies leadership and interpersonal skills to supervise staff, foster collaboration, and drive accountability and service excellence.
Uses foundational budgeting and compliance skills to manage resources, support survey readiness, and ensure regulatory adherence.
Supervision is received from the Director, Perioperative Supply Chain Services.
Supervision is exercised over supply chain staff.
Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, materials management, economics, healthcare administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities can be acquired.
Five (5) years of progressively responsible supply chain experience.
Graduation from a surgical technology program or equivalent clinical training.
Operating room or surgical services experience.
Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
