BASIC FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITY

The Program Manager, Blood and Marrow Transplant and Cellular Therapy Program (BMTCTP) is accountable for leading the full cycle of operations and achieving the desired clinical, operational, financial, growth, and people goals. This management role has responsibility for assisting MU Health Care to achieve its mission of advancing the health of all people, especially Missourians. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Create a high-performing team by interviewing, selecting, training, leading, developing, supporting, evaluating, coaching, counseling, and disciplining staff. Consistently communicate with staff regarding goals, expectations, policy and procedure changes, and activities.

Oversee and facilitate the program preparation for accreditation agencies (ex. FACT, CIBMTR), surveys, inspections, and audits regarding transplant, transplant-related research, and outcomes. Represent as needed or requested by Department Chair or Department Administrator.

Ensure the prompt delivery of services by implementing multidisciplinary improvements and enhancements. Coordinate and direct the development of processes and procedures compatible with established policies of the University of Missouri School of Medicine and MU Health Care.

Establish, maintain, and monitor staffing levels, productivity, and throughput. Develop and produce monthly activity reports related to clinical and operational outcomes. Confer with the departmental chair and administrator, practice physicians, and others to resolve operational problems and promote excellence in the delivery of care. Assist with the development, administration, and achievement of the budget and financial targets.

Foster interdepartmental collaboration across the full continuum, including collaboration with stem cell collection and processing contracted services such as Red Cross and CAR-T partners.

Manage the development, coordination, and maintenance of daily staffing schedules to ensure the appropriate level of coverage and continuity of care.

Monitor and oversee time and attendance in alignment with MU Health Care policies and practices, ensuring accuracy of records and timely approval for payroll purposes.

May complete unit/department specific duties as outlined in department documents.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED

Supervision is received from the Ellis Operations Lead.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED

Direct supervision is exercised over professional, technical, and clerical staff.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree.

Two (2) years of experience in a healthcare setting.

One (1) year of supervisory experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Master's degree in a health or business related area.

Two (2) years of supervisory experience.

Experience in a medical practice or ambulatory care experience.

Experience with finance, budgets, and process improvement.

Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met with or without reasonable accommodation. The performance of these physical demands is an essential function of the job. This position is very active and requires ambulating, reaching, and moving objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs.

This role also routinely comes into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses. This position is in a health care facility open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Rotating shifts as well as holiday and work during inclement weather will be required.
