BASIC FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITY

Deconstruct moderate-to-complex healthcare/clinical data to derive actionable insights that impact critical business processes and/or clinical/operational decisions. Develop and deliver practical, interpretable, and automated solutions for business problems through predictive modeling, advanced statistical analysis and leveraging big data and cloud technologies in a highly interactive and team-oriented environment. Deploy developed models into production and collaborate with other teams for integration with existing infrastructure, systems, and platforms for consumption.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Creates and implements data science solutions that make operational workflows efficient and effective.

Defines, experiments, and builds predictive models that span multiple mission critical functions within the healthcare system.

Develops operations research analyses as well as machine learning models in an exploratory data analytics environment and works with others to develop production ready versions of the models that are deployed within consumable operational environments.

Works with a diverse team of business operation analysts, data engineers, data scientists and IT to build and unify ML systems development and deployment in order to standardize and streamline the continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) of high-performing models in production.

Collaborates with data architects, data scientists, and engineers to create robust, automated systems by which data science solutions can be deployed and managed.

Stays abreast with big data and cloud technologies to recommend best tools to perform current and future work.

Engages with the engineering team, cloud infrastructure team, and an information security team to meet the objectives of data science and AI products.

Works closely with executives, operational leadership, managers, service line leaders, and others to ensure deliverables are meeting core business objectives. Employs sound judgment in determining which analytic deliverables will be deployed to produce a good return on investment.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Strong critical thinking skills to help predict the needs of various business units and leaders across the system rather than require them to provide detailed prescriptive direction.

Knowledge and familiarity with data science tools such as Spark, Python, and R as well as cloud services inclusive of data lake technologies, ETL tools, containerized compute, application deployment utilized in the development of operationalized and sustained predictive and prescriptive modeling.

Knowledge and familiarity with business intelligence tools such as Microsoft Power BI, Qlik or Tableau to design and develop reporting analytics and visualizations.

Knowledge and familiarity with Microsoft Office suite software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio, etc.).

Interpersonal and communication skills to effectively work and communicate with others.

Ability to research and discover new method.

Ability to quickly and demonstrate proficiency in new software tools.

Analytical reasoning and problem-solving skills.

Ability to document work and communicate progress to others.

Ability to function with minimum supervision in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to be detailed and accurate.

Ability to work under tight deadlines in a highly dynamic environment. Strong analytic and problem-solving skills and ability to interpret results of query analyses.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Master's degree in health administration, business administration, computer science, statistics, data science, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills

and abilities can be acquired.

Two (2) years of experience in the application of data science methodology application, decision support, analysis, or quality reporting and/or quality and process improvement via cross-functional teams.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

One (1) year of healthcare experience.

Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
