Directs the business operations of the assigned department, which may include facilities, staffing, programs, finance/budgeting, marketing, investigation and training.
Explains policies and procedures to advise and assist others, the team and/or unit chair/director
Oversees and guides the processes
May perform some of the work supervised/managed
May serve as a representative for the functional unit
Applies operational business practices and coordinates with other closely related areas inside the function to improve efficiency
May provide input to short-term plans for the function
Uses judgment to identify, troubleshoot and resolve day-to-day technical and operational problems
Impacts the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of own team and its contribution to the Finance and Business function
Explains information, conveys performance expectations and handles sensitive issues
Work is guided by policies and procedures
Possesses formal supervisory responsibilities
Coordinates resources (e.g., people, processes, budgets) and sets daily priorities to meet operational objectives and offset competing priorities
Supervises/Manages activities of the Business and Finance function
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 4 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
