Nature of Work

Provide support for enterprise storage arrays and related software products, as well as enterprise virtualization environments. These duties include vendor management for issue resolution; support for the virtualization environment, including host server hardware, host operating system, storage hardware; and management of the enterprise storage arrays and their associated software packages for configuration, monitoring, alerting and capacity planning.

Key Responsibilities(to be completed by department)

  • Support virtualization environments, including provisioning virtual machines, resolving operational issues, planning and performing software updates, capacity planning, monitoring, and backup/restore activities and oversight.

  • Support multiple storage array platforms and fabrics in support of other solutions such as e-mail, ERP and learning management systems.

  • Prepare and maintain documentation for servers or storage arrays.

  • Provision storage as needed to meet customer and solution needs.

  • Compile and report metrics for capacity planning, system health and budgetary purposes.

Minimum Qualifications

In appraising the relative qualifications of candidates for all levels, consideration will be given to the extent and type of experience with various information technology functions and to the extent and type of pertinent education and formal training. Experience in system administration and enterprise storage systems is required.
