The Senior Director, Imaging Services, provides strategic leadership and management of the operational, financial, and personnel activities of imaging services for all locations of the MU Health Care Responsible for performance in the areas of growth, quality, service, engagement and stewardship.
Develops and implements operational policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective delivery of radiology services.
Oversees scheduling, workflow optimization, and resource allocation to meet patient care needs. Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and quality assurance protocols.
Develops and manages departmental budgets, including revenue forecasting, expense control, and financial reporting.
Identifies opportunities for revenue enhancement and cost-saving initiatives while maintaining high-quality service delivery.
Monitors key performance indicators and financial metrics to assess departmental performance and identify areas for improvement.
Recruits, trains, and supervises radiology staff across multiple locations.
Fosters a culture of professional development, collaboration, and accountability.
Conducts performance evaluations, provides feedback, and implements strategies to promote employee engagement and retention.
Collaborates with hospital leadership to develop long-term strategic plans for radiologic services aligned with organizational goals and priorities.
Identifies emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in radiology and integrates them into departmental strategies.
Leads initiatives to enhance service quality, patient satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
Implements quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes, safety, and satisfaction.
Monitors and analyzes clinical outcomes, patient feedback, and performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
Drives continuous quality improvement efforts through data-driven decision-making and process optimization.
Leads a culture of safety through proactive risk mitigation and continuous quality improvement, taking measures to routinely evaluate regulatory readiness. Monitors and analyzes safety and performance metrics to identify trends and implement corrective actions for staff and/or patients as appropriate.
Oversees the development, coordination, and maintenance of daily staffing schedules to ensure the appropriate level of coverage and continuity of care across units.
Directs the implementation and oversight of MU Health Care time and attendance policies and practices.
May complete unit/department-specific duties as outlined in department documents.
Expertise in operational management, financial analysis, and strategic planning.
Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and industry best practices in radiology.
Supervision is received from the Chief Operating Officer, or designee.
Supervision is exercised over staff in Radiology and Imaging Services.
Bachelor's degree.
Master's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related area, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities can be acquired.
Seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in radiology services, preferably in an academic healthcare setting.
ARRT certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.

This role also routinely comes into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses. This position is in a health care facility open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Rotating shifts as well as holiday and work during inclement weather will be required.
