The Manager, Clinic Pharmacy manages and optimizes the operational, financial, quality improvement, customer service, and personnel activities of assigned clinic pharmacy services. Directs initiatives to advance clinical pharmacy practice, improve patient outcomes, ensure regulatory compliance, and support organizational goals across multiple sites.
Oversees operational and fiscal performance of assigned pharmacy areas, ensuring alignment with departmental and organizational objectives.
Directs drug inventory management processes and establishes quality control standards to ensure accuracy, compliance, and cost-efficiency.
Monitors medication usage to reduce waste, manage cost, and promote effective utilization of resources.
Leads loss prevention, quality control, and resource allocation strategies to support sustainable and compliant pharmacy operations.
Manages ambulatory clinical pharmacy initiatives, including value-based care programs, collaborative practice agreements, and population health strategies.
Ensures compliance with all federal and state regulations, including policy enforcement, required reporting, and maintenance of licenses, certifications, and accreditations.
Oversees pharmacy-led programs related to prior authorizations, patient assistance, and revenue cycle denials management.
Performs duties of a pharmacist as needed to support staffing or clinical functions.
Leads a culture of safety through proactive risk mitigation and continuous quality improvement, taking measures to evaluate regulatory readiness routinely. Monitors and analyzes safety and performance metrics to identify trends and implement corrective actions for staff and/or patients as appropriate.
Manages the development, coordination, and maintenance of daily staffing schedules to ensure the appropriate level of coverage and continuity of care.
Monitors and oversees time and attendance in alignment with MU Health Care policies and practices, ensuring accuracy of records and timely approval for payroll purposes.

Knowledge of unit workflows, policies, and procedures to manage daily operations, maintain standards, and support quality improvement.
Applies leadership and interpersonal skills to supervise staff, foster collaboration, and drive accountability and service excellence.
Uses foundational budgeting and compliance skills to manage resources, support survey readiness, and ensure regulatory adherence.
Supervision is received from the Director, Ambulatory Pharmacy, or designee.
Supervision is exercised over pharmacists and pharmacy support staff.
Pharmacist licensure by the Missouri Board of Pharmacy.
Medication Therapy Services (MTS) endorsement by the Missouri Board of Pharmacy within one (1) year as a condition of continued employment in this job classification.
Notice of Intent to Immunize (NOI) endorsement by the Missouri Board of Pharmacy within one (1) year as a condition of continued employment in this job classification.
Five (5) years of experience in pharmacy.
One (1) year of supervisory or pharmacy management experience.
Completion of PGY1 pharmacy residency.
Post-graduate study in pharmacy, MBA, or MHA.
Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
