Director, Therapy Services Clinical applies broad clinical and administrative knowledge to align therapy services strategy with MU Health Care goals and patient outcomes. Leads multidisciplinary teams and clinical areas, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective care. Directs strategic planning and program development for therapy services, ensuring compliance with legal, ethical, and institutional standards while serving as a patient advocate.
Directs daily operations and activities across multiple clinical therapy service areas.
Leads programmatic strategy and planning, including the development and marketing of new and expanded services.
Oversees revenue cycle processes including billing, coding, and productivity metrics to optimize financial performance.
Promotes evidence-based practices and clinical excellence to improve functional outcomes and patient experience.
Develops and implements strategic initiatives to support growth, service quality, and patient safety.
Establishes performance metrics and ensures compliance with regulatory standards and professional guidelines.
Serves as liaison between clinical staff, hospital administration, and external stakeholders to foster collaboration and align goals.
Leads a culture of safety through proactive risk mitigation and continuous quality improvement, taking measures to routinely evaluate regulatory readiness. Monitors and analyzes safety and performance metrics to identify trends and implement corrective actions for staff and/or patients as appropriate.
Manage the development, coordination, and maintenance of daily staffing schedules to ensure the appropriate level of coverage and continuity of care.
Monitor and oversee time and attendance in alignment with MU Health Care policies and practices, ensuring accuracy of records and timely approval for payroll purposes.
May complete unit/department-specific duties as outlined in department documents.
Applies broad clinical and administrative knowledge to align departmental strategy with health system goals and patient outcomes.
Leads managers and supervisors to foster accountability, develop talent, and ensure high performance across service areas.
Drives operational efficiency through advanced planning, budgeting, and stakeholder engagement across internal and external initiatives.
Supervision is received from the Executive Director of Missouri Orthopedic Institute.
Supervision is exercised over a large professional, technical, and support staff within the therapy services department.
Bachelor's degree in a related field.
Master's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities can be acquired.
Seven (7) years of experience in therapy services.
Two (2) years of supervisory experience.
Licensed as one of the following in the state of Missouri or with multi-state privilege (must update licensure within 30 days if primary state of residency changes):
Occupational Therapist (OT)
Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) with Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC)
Physical Therapist (PT)
Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
