The Nurse, Procedures, CRMC provides nursing and patient care in an outpatient or ambulatory operating room setting at Capital Region Medical Center. Assess patient during procedures and deliver therapy. Assists with procedures including administering and monitoring moderate sedation under physician delegation.
Administer and monitor the effects of medications via intravenous/analgesia, intracardiac, intramuscular, subcutaneous topical, and oral routes during special procedures as ordered by a physician.
Monitor patient vital signs. Administer oxygen therapy as ordered by a physician. Conduct hemodynamic monitoring as indicated by procedure and policy. Assist in the collection of arterial and venous blood samples and respiratory gases. Attend to patient needs. Perform defibrillation of life-threatening arrhythmias without direct medical supervision. Implement emergency procedures including CPR and defibrillation of life-threatening arrhythmias. Obtain and record hemodynamic, electrical, and angiographic data by operating hemodynamic and electrical amplifiers and digital and line fluoroscopic equipment.
Develop and contribute to a plan of nursing for the patient's care.
Monitor patient physiological conditions and give timely notification to physicians regarding changes in patient status.
Prepare patients and equipment for procedures by preparing the entry site, draping the patient, arranging sterilized instruments, and calibrating and setting up related materials.
Assist in general endoscopy and fluoroscopy procedures.
Transport and aid in the transfer of patients.
May complete unit/department-specific duties as outlined in department documents.

Supervision is received from the assigned manager or supervisor.
Functional supervision is exercised over nursing and support staff.
Missouri Board of Nursing RN or Nurse Licensure Compact multi-state RN. When primary state of residency changes, compact state RNs must apply under new state of residency within thirty (30) days.
Two (2) years of acute-care or invasive procedure RN experience.
Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.

This role also routinely comes into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses. This position is in a health care facility open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Rotating shifts as well as holiday and work during inclement weather will be required.
