New System Surplus Properties Manager

By Jennifer Alexander, Director of Supply Chain Operations

Please welcome Carolyn (Howze) Calton as the new Manager for System Surplus Properties and Asset Management. This June, Carolyn will have been with the University for 20 years. During that time she has filled many positions within Supply Chain; including roles in Accounts Payable, General Stores, Procurement Operations and now Surplus.

Surplus Properties and Asset Management is part of UM System Supply Chain and is responsible for the disposal, re-distribution, and sale of used equipment the University no longer uses or needs. They are also responsible for Asset Management. This includes the coordination of physical inventory for capital equipment and establishing and maintaining the records and procedures necessary for the accountability of University property.

Carolyn will be working closely with her team members, which are located at each campus location, looking for opportunities to better serve their customers and streamlining processes necessary for fulfilling their department’s responsibilities. If you would like to discuss the services available to you through Surplus Property, feel free to reach out to Carolyn or one of her team.
