Erica Ottis is a clinical assistant professor for the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Pharmacy at MU. Her professional practice site is at the University of Missouri Hospital where she serves as a clinical specialist in internal medicine. Her scholarly interest is primarily in the area of the scholarship of teaching and includes the development of interprofessional experiences for health professions students and the implementation of objective structured clinical exams (OSCEs) into the pharmacy curricula. She recently participated in a Josiah Macy grant conference regarding faculty development in team-based care with colleagues from around the nation. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from St. Louis College of Pharmacy and then completed a PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at the Regional Medical Center in Memphis, TN. In Ottis’s free time she enjoys hanging out with her husband and friends, trying new restaurants, reading about other cultures perception of medicine and health and doing home improvement projects.
