Opening - Law Fellows

The University of Missouri Office of the General Counsel seeks to hire two recent law school graduates from MU and/or UMKC for one-year fellowships beginning in August 2018.

Each Law Fellow will be assigned a diverse range of research and projects handled by the Office of the General Counsel, including issues related to labor and employment, litigation, contracts, research, intellectual property, tax and non-profit law, higher education law, privacy, compliance, healthcare, business transactions, construction, real estate, international programs, general business transactions and other areas as assigned by the General Counsel or his designee.  Academic achievement and superior writing and communication skills are essential requirements for the fellowship positions. The successful candidates must demonstrate the highest level of integrity and professionalism. The Law Fellows will work in University Hall in Columbia, Missouri. Supervising attorneys will work closely with the successful candidates to develop fundamental skills necessary for a law practice and provide opportunities to participate in a full range of legal activities.

A Juris Doctorate degree from MU or UMKC School of Law within the last year, including Spring 2018, is required. While the fellowships are designed for a 12-month period, they are terminable at-will by the University.

The University of Missouri is fully committed to achieving the goal of a diverse and inclusive academic community of faculty, staff and students. We seek individuals who are committed to this goal and our core campus values of respect, responsibility, discovery and excellence.
