Chief Marketing and Communications Officer Search

On November 28, 2017, University of Missouri System President Choi and University of Missouri-Columbia Chancellor Cartwright launched a national search for the Chief Marketing and Communications Officer to serve in the Joint Office of Strategic Communications and Marketing.  Both leaders are confident that a broad, high-quality pool of candidates from a national audience will be generated through partnership with the search firm, Buffkin Baker. Martin Baker, managing partner, will work collaboratively with the UM System HR Executive Initiatives team to guide the work of the 13-member search committee chaired by Jeri Doty, interim executive director for the joint communications office. The committee has the important task of engaging various stakeholder groups in order to listen to constituent voices and gather feedback and campus perspective regarding the qualities and necessary qualifications for this leader. To date, administrative leaders as well as faculty, staff, students, and alumni have already provided feedback. Their collective input directly influenced how the position is currently being communicated to prospective candidates.
