First University of Missouri Presidential Search Forum set for Tuesday in Portageville

The University of Missouri Board of Curators will conduct the first of its public presidential search forums on Tuesday, March 6, at the University's Delta Research Center in Portageville.

The public forum at Portageville is scheduled to run from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Curator Judith G. Haggard of Kennett, who represents the 8th Congressional District, will welcome forum guests on behalf of the Board of Curators. Members of the Board of Curators plan to attend the public forums in their home regions to visit with citizens about the presidential search process and solicit public comments.

Future public forums are planned as follows:

  • Monday, March 12, 3:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.

St. Louis - J.C. Penney Building, Room 126

University of Missouri-St. Louis campus

  • Friday, March 16, 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. & 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.

Kansas City – Room 106, University Center

University of Missouri-Kansas City campus

  • Monday, March 19, 4:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Columbia - Room 208C Reynolds Alumni Center

University of Missouri-Columbia campus

  • Tuesday, March 20, 1:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Rolla - Carver-Turner Room, Havener Center

University of Missouri-Rolla campus

  • Tuesday, March 20, 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Springfield - Discovery Center Auditorium, 438 E. Saint Louis Street

The Board of Curators is seeking a successor to President Elson S. Floyd, who is departing this spring to assume the presidency of Washington State University.
