The conference provided a forum for small businesses, particularly minority and women-owned businesses, to network and build business relationships with buyers from Missouri’s colleges and universities, local, state and federal entities as well as corporate sponsors. The conference was attended by approximately 200 participants.

Four UM System Showcase awards were presented by UM Vice President for Finance and Administration Nikki Krawitz to minority- and women-owned companies for their excellent service to the University of Missouri. Award recipients included International Architects Atelier, of Kansas City; Controlled Environment Products, of Kansas City; Resource Management and Recovery Systems, of Columbia; and DuBois Consultants, Inc., of Kansas City.

“These companies are proof positive that we can build a better Missouri by working together as partners,” UM President Elson S. Floyd said at the event.
