BPM-215 Organizational Dues & Memberships

Revised March 1, 2010

University funds may be used to pay for institutional memberships in organizations which provide educational or professional service of value to the University.

Payment should be budgeted and paid by the appropriate division or unit.

University funds may be used for membership in organizations which publish material needed by University libraries and to carry out University responsibilities.

University funds may not be used to pay individual personal membership dues in professional societies, associations, nor in social, service, or civic clubs unless needed to discharge University responsibilities or which provide educational, professional and other services of value to the institution or to one or more of its component parts.

This does not preclude the use of funds from gifts or grants specifically designated for the purpose of personal memberships.

Payment should be budgeted and paid by the appropriate division or unit.
