Approval of a five-year extension to the MDH program

The United States Congress and the President approved a five-year extension to the Medicare-Dependent Small Rural Hospital (MDH) program, which supports small rural hospitals that serve a large percent of Medicare patients. The program has a significant impact on the University of Missouri. The program extension allows predictable stability for MDHs for the next five years and substantially broadens the program to more hospitals, now making it available to hospitals with up to 3,800 discharges.
