House pass HB1679

The House third read HB1679, relating to students meals at public institutions of higher education. This legislation would allow students the ability to opt out of campus meal plans if they present medical documentation of food allergy or sensitivity, or a medical dietary issue. We are already doing this across our campuses by either allowing a student to opt-out or offering them the ability to meet with a dietician and set up a meal plan that works best for the individual student. The bill will now move to the Senate where it will restart the legislative process.
