The Faculty Information System (FIS) Request for Proposals (RFP) was launched on August 5, 2026 following an exploratory Request for Information (RFI) conducted in Summer/Fall 2025. This webpage provides general information about the status of the RFP.
Background
Faculty information systems are crucial to the operation of the modern university. They provide faculty members with a streamlined way to capture their research, teaching, service, scholarship, and creative works in one place. They are also central to faculty evaluation processes, including annual reviews, mid-probationary reviews, and promotion and tenure.
The decision to undertake an RFP was based on feedback from faculty and other stakeholders across our four universities. The review of proposals will take place during the Fall 2026 semester and will be overseen by a selection committee comprised of faculty, staff, and administrators from all four universities (see below for more information).
It is important to note that, regardless of the outcome of the RFP, myVITA will continue to be used for at least the next two evaluation cycles.
Campus Visits
All UM System faculty and staff that work with myVITA will be invited to participate in interactive sessions with the selected semi-finalist vendors. Vendors identified as semi-finalists will be asked to present their product at the University of Missouri campus in Columbia, MO and to participate in interactive sessions, which will include an overview of the product and Q&A sessions. A Zoom webinar option will also be made available, allowing participants to watch the presentation and submit questions virtually.
These visits are expected to take place in late September and early October of 2026. Once semi-finalists have been selected and campus visits scheduled, this page will be updated. UM System faculty and staff will also receive an email with additional information regarding the visits and how to participate.

The Selection Committee will make recommendations to University leadership on the final selection of the University’s Faculty Information System.
