The Supervisor Training Series is a five-session, live and instructor-led, virtual series designed to give supervisors the practical knowledge and confidence to lead their teams well across a variety of topics, including: day-to-day policy awareness, interviewing and selecting new employees, effective performance management and discipline practices, a supervisor’s role in supporting Title IX and ADA responsibilities, and more.

Participant Criteria

Any leader supervising at least one staff person across the UM System campuses (Columbia, Kansas City, Rolla, and St. Louis), regardless of tenure in a supervisory role. MU Health Care employees are not eligible to participate in this series but should explore leadership development opportunities through MU Health Care’s Center for Education and Development.

What to Expect

Format

  • Live instructor-led sessions delivered virtually.
  • Sessions that run approximately 90 minutes combine instruction with discussion and applied scenarios. 
  • Sessions are designed to stand independently, allowing participants to attend the full series and earn a certificate of completion or select sessions most relevant to their needs.
