In 2018, Jenelle Beavers joined the Office of the General Counsel after serving as the Associate Director of Mizzou’s Honors College.  She advises in a number of areas including employment, equity, and litigation. Between 2008 and 2016, Beavers was a Trial Attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice where she led False Claims Act investigations and civil prosecutions in the health, technology and defense industries.  In 2011, she received a Special Commendation from the Assistant Attorney General for Outstanding Service for her work.  From 2005-2008, she was a litigation associate in the Washington D.C. office of Latham & Watkins where she represented individuals, non-profit and for-profit entities, and other institutional clients in white collar and governmental investigations and civil litigation.  She also served on the firm’s global hiring committee.

Beavers received a bachelor degree in English, with honors, from the University of Missouri in 2001. She earned her J.D. and M.P.H.  from the University of Michigan in 2005, where she served as an editor of the Michigan Law Review. She is licensed to practice law in Missouri and New York.
