Courtney Lauer of Columbia was appointed as the Student Representative to the University of Missouri Board of Curators on July 31, 2017.
Lauer is a Master of Laws graduate student receiving her LL.M. in dispute resolution from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law. Lauer received a law degree in 2017, also from the MU School of Law. She earned her bachelor of arts degree in communication with honors from Columbia College in 2011. Upon graduation, Lauer worked in the Missouri Senate serving the citizens of the state of Missouri before returning to school for her professional law degrees.
Lauer served as president of the Student Bar Association, Associate Editor in Chief of the Journal of Dispute Resolution and Competitive Teams Director on the Board of Advocates. Additionally, Lauer was a member of the nationally ranked Mizzou Law arbitration team, a top 10 finalist in the 1L moot court competition, and a member of Phi Delta Phi legal honor fraternity.  In her last year at the MU School of Law, Lauer was one of two student representatives on the School of Law Dean search committee. As a law student, Lauer was inducted into the Order of the Barristers.
