Office Online is the web version of Microsoft’s regular Office applications Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote. You’ll find the same functionality as the full desktop versions, but the online apps are light enough to run in your browser on any device with an Internet connection. Work anywhere then save your documents to OneDrive or your device.

- Office Online apps are also available as mobile applications.
Tap
Tap lets you easily insert frequently used content from other documents, presentations and spreadsheets. It even finds documents shared to you via OneDrive. To use Tap, click Insert > Document Item. From the list that appears, you can click the plus symbol to insert the object.
Touch editing
If you’re using a mobile device, you can edit with natural gestures. Choose Draw with Touch > Ink Editor pen. With the Ink Editor, you can select, delete and highlight text as well as several other useful editing tools. Presentation tools
Improve your PowerPoint presentations with tools like Designer, Morph and Zoom. PowerPoint Designer improves slides by automatically generating design ideas you can choose from. Select Design > Design Ideas to turn on Designer. As you create slides, Designer will automatically show you design ideas. Over time, PowerPoint learns from you and shows you ideas at the appropriate time. You can also use Sway’s built-in design engine so you can focus more on content.
Mobile
Office 365 has mobile versions available for Android and iOS. The mobile app combines Word, PowerPoint and Excel with mobile features like touch editing to make document creation easier. Get the app at https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/mobile.
Sharing/Co-authoring
Save your documents to your OneDrive account and share them easily with coworkers. From within a document, click the Share button in the upper-right corner of the document window. You can also easily share document from within Windows File Explorer by right clicking and selecting Share from the context menu. You can choose who to share the document with and whether they can edit the document. You can also edit shared documents online and see your co-author’s edits in real time.

- Share content directly from the Windows File Explorer.
- Hover over a file to see details.
- Use your mobile device to scan paper documents into digital files.
- View previous file versions and change history.
