Long Title
Statement from the University of Missouri System regarding UM Board of Curators chairman’s recent announcement of purchasing JW Broadcasting

This afternoon, Board of Curators Chairman David Bradley announced that the News-Press & Gazette Company, owned by the Bradley family, intends to purchase the assets of JW Broadcasting used in the operation of  KMIZ-TV (ABC),  KQFX-LP (FOX), MyZouTV (MyNetworkTV) and Me-TV in Columbia, Missouri. Because these stations are competitors of university-owned KOMU TV, Chairman Bradley had informed Vice Chairman Wayne Goode and other members of the Board of Curators of his business decision and the potential conflict of interest in advance of the purchase. Curator Bradley will voluntarily recuse himself from any discussions or votes by the board concerning KOMU, which comports with the requirements of the Board’s conflict of interest rule.

As reference, the applicable Collected Rule and Regulation is 10.090.B.2.
